2.) Check the Construction –

Although seldom seen, the interior construction will determine the longevity of wood furniture.

 In the Ocean Imports Beechwood Collection solid wood joints are mortise and tenon construction - a joinery method used to ensure strength and durability. Superior to dowel joinery.

Dovetail joints are the strongest of all joints used in cabinet making. The Ocean Imports Beechwood Collection uses dovetail joints in all drawer construction. All drawers are solid wood and finished on all sides with roller/Euro drawer slides for many years of smooth use.

3.) Examine the Finish –

A six step polyurethane finish gives our Beech Collection a rich, durable long lasting finish.

Step 1 – stained; Step 2 – sealed; Step 3 – handsanding; Step 4 – polyurethane coat; Step 5 – second sanding; Step 6 – final coat of polyurethane.

Ease of cleaning – all pieces can be cleaned with a soft damp cloth; no polishing or waxing is needed.
